High Quality CPR

  • Compression depth of 2-2.4 inches (5-6 cm) in adults
  • Two hands over the lower half of the breastbone in adults
  • Allowthe chest to recoil after every compression
  • Do not lean on chest between compressions
  • Minimize interruptions to chest compressions
  • May interrupt for rhythm analysis and shock/cardioversion
  • Interruptions should be no longer than 10 seconds
  • Avoid excessive ventilation
  • Make sure the victim’s back is supported (backboard)

Avoid unnecessary interruptions in chest compressions!
